Understanding Action Fields

Name
This is a free-form input that should be used to uniquely identify the action. -
Percent (%) Complete
This numeric value (a range from 0 to 100) defines the completed status of the project and is used for calculating the status for parent actions and the project as a whole. -
Duration
This value (represented in seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, or years) defines the time expected for completion of the project. Note: This value will be automatically adjusted by, or affect the adjustment, of the action End Date. -
Type
This customizable field is used for organizing different major action types. Note: Action Type options are defined in the Configuration area. -
Status
This customizable field is used for organizing overall action completion. Note: Action Status options are defined in the Configuration area. -
Date Start
This is the date that the action has / will begin. Note: Date Start will automatically be adjusted to accommodate Sub-actions that have a date preceding the specified date. This feature can be disabled in the system configuration file. -
Date Finish
This is the date that the action has / will be completed. Note: Date Finish will automatically be adjusted to accommodate Sub-actions that have a date following the specified date. This feature can be disabled in the system configuration file. -
Main Contact
This selection is used to relate the action with a specific client contact. Note: This option is unavailable when the project is not related to a specific client. -
Managed by
This is the administrator that is responsible for managing the action. -
Assigned to
This is the administrator that is responsible for maintaining the action activity. -
Priority
This selection defines the priority (Low, Medium, or High) which is represented in the action list and used to produce the Action Weight. -
Billable Time
This selection will affect automatic billing operations and the creation of new timelog records. -
Notes / Details
This is a free-form textarea field that can be used to store general action notes, details, or objectives, visible to the client. -
Private Notes
This is a free-form textarea field that can be used to store general action notes, details, or objectives, hidden from the client. -
Parent Action
This is a select list that can be used to move the node under a different parent. Note: Moving a node will cause all child nodes to be moved as well. -
Recurrence
This option controls the automatic creation of a recurring task schedule.
